UltraGrid 1.10 Release

CESNET and the Laboratory of Advanced Networking Technologies (SITOLA) are happy to announce a new stable release of the UltraGrid software for low-latency and high-quality video transmissions over IP networks. The current stable release is versioned 1.10 and is available for download for all supported platforms at http://www.ultragrid.cz/.

This release is mostly a maintenance release. The major news in this release include:

• Blackmagic Decklink IP cards are now supported in UltraGrid. This brings in SMPTE 2110 IP based broadcast systems compatibility!
• We have added SDL3 library support. Simple DirectMedia Layer is a cross-platform development library designed to provide low level access to audio, keyboard, mouse, joystick, and graphics hardware via OpenGL/Direct3D/Metal/Vulkan. It is used by video playback software, emulators, and popular games including Valve's award winning catalog and many Humble Bundle games.
• UltraGrid now comes with full Wayland support on Linux.
• Cineform encoded streams can now be decoded through FFMPEG if native Cineform support is not available.
• We have implemented Samsung's Advanced Profesional Video (AVP) codec via FFMPEG in UltraGrid. Samsung's Advanced Professional Video (APV) is a royalty-free video codec made by Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd to be used for professional-level high-quality video recording and post production.
• We have improved streams ingestion over RTSP protocol support in UltraGrid. UltraGrid now supports authentication over RTSP. It is possible to use HEVC and JPEG encoded video over RTSP. Last but not least we have also added a couple of stability fixes for the RTSP implementation in UltraGrid.
• OBS virtual camera can now be used as a video source through Dshow on Windows.
• We have improved FEC resiliency for low-bitrate streams.
• We have updated Deltacast codebase in UltraGrid. Hence UltraGrid now supports up-to-date Deltacast capture and playback cards and Deltacast supported video formats.
• We have added server/client mode controls to UltraGrid GUI.
• UltraGrid can now be built on BSD systems.
